LAND TRANSFER TAX

This is payable by you when you purchase your home. You may qualify for an exemption of all or most of the tax as a first time buyer purchasing from a builder. The tax is based on the purchase price of the house.

Here is the formula to calculate it:

  1. Up to $250,000.00: 1% of Purchase price minus $275.00
  2. Over $250,000.00: 1.5% of Purchase price minus $1,525.00
  3. Over $400,000.00: 2% of Purchase price minus $3,525.00
